Don’t Become A Victim!

While there is a lot of talk about immigration reform, nothing is law yet. Please do not fall victim of notarios or unscrupulous attorneys who promise you immigration benefits based on the new law.

To date, the only “new” forms of immigration “relief” are Provisional Waivers and DACA. Nothing else exists yet. Anyone who tells you differently is lying to you to get your money.

H-1Bs Filing Period Ends With Lottery

The H-1B visa filing period for the 2014 Federal fiscal year ended on April 5th.

As expected, the filing period for H-1Bs was very brief and ended at close of business on the April 5th. A lottery will therefore be conducted to determine which applications will be processes and which will be returned unprocessed. In 2013, th filing period ended on June 11, 2012, and the 2012 filing period ended on November 22, 2011.

Employers wishing to file H-1B visas petitions for the 2015 Federal fiscal year, which begins on October 1, 2014, will need to file their petitions in the first week of April 2014 in order to maximize the chances that a visa will be available for their employees.

Our Los Angeles immigration lawyers are available to handle your case.
