If Legislators Have Their Way, the Next Google Will Not Be a US Company

For the past three years, H-1B visas have run out even before they can physically be given out.

US Legislators knows this, as industry leaders have testified at Congressional hearings detailing why they need foreign workers in order to maintain their leadership in the market place. A few legislators have listened and have continue to introduce bills to increase the number of H-1B visas that can be given out a year. Most have not listened.

With China, India and even Brazil making serious advances in the world marketplace, and with US legislators sending them superb US trained talent by refusing to increase the number of H-1B visas, these legislators seem intent on making sure that 1) the next Google will not be an American company, and 2) that the US will its world leadership position as soon as possible.

It is time for our legislators to wake up and realize that the needs of US businesses are in the best interest of the US. It is time to remove the cap on H-1B visas.

This year USCIS will take all filings submitted within the first five filing days in April for the lottery if those filings exceed the number of visas available. That, of course, is almost certain to happen.
