H–1B Caps Reached
USCIS has announced that the H–1B visa caps have been reached with the initial filings. This includes both the advanced degree cap and the regular cap.
This means that, once again, all petitions for a first time H–1B that were filed by April 7th are subject to a lottery to determine which will be processed.
It also means that Congress has once again dropped the ball.
As Robert Hoffman, (VP, Oracle; Compete America) states Congress has failed to address the problem as U.S. universities graduate highly educated individuals who leave to work in competitor nations. This madness must end this year.”
