H-1B “Fraud” Fee
Notice to ClientsAs part of the H-1B Visa Reform Act of 2004, Congress has imposed a $500.00 fee on employers for the purpose of “fraud prevention and detection.” This fee is designed to give both the US Citizenship and Immigration Services and the US Department of Labor funds to conduct audits and investigations of cases. Because these audits and investigations are now being funded, it is possible that agents of either the US Citizenship and Immigration Services and/or the US Department of Labor could visit you announced, to ask questions regarding the company, the position, the work performed, etc. These visits can take place while the petition is pending and even after it has been approved. Should agents of either the US Citizenship and Immigration Services and/or the US Department of Labor visit you, please call our office immediately, and inform the agents that you wish to have your attorney present. |
